U.S. breakdown of recycled content of an aluminum can 2016-2017
Based on 2016 and 2017, 50 percent of an average aluminum can in the United States was from post-consumer scrap, generated from the recycling stream and other scrap sources. The domestic consumer recycling rate of aluminum cans in the U.S. reached some 49.8 percent in 2018.
