Number of South Koreans with dementia 2014-2018
In 2018, there were over 700,000 South Koreans with various forms of dementia. This number has increased in recent years, and accordingly the cost of treating patients has also risen. According to government figures, the number of people with various forms of dementia and the costs of treating these patients skyrocketed by more than 70% over the last five years.
