Share of retail Rx by payer oral solid opioids vs. all drugs Canada 2017

In 2017, public payments accounted for half of all prescriptions made for oral solid opioids in Canada, compared to 55 percent for all Rx drugs. Out-of-pocket payments were responsible for 23 and 20 percent of retail prescriptions, respectively.
