Tourism participation by age group in Sweden

In 2018, outbound tourism was more popular than domestic tourism among Swedes across all age groups. It was most common among participants aged 25 to 34 years, with 44.35 percent stating they traveled outside Sweden in that year.

The source adds the following information: "This collection covers national tourism. Data is collected by the competent national authorities of the Member States and is compiled according to a harmonised methodology established by EU regulations before transmission to Eurostat.
Most of the time, data on domestic and outbound trips (where "outbound tourism" means residents of a country travelling in another country) is collected via sample surveys. However, in a few cases the data are compiled from border surveys. Surveys are generally conducted on a monthly or quarterly basis."
