Share of online savers in China saving for retirement 2019, by age group

During a survey conducted in May 2019, 48 percent of millennial respondents in China from Ant Fortune platform aged between 18 and 34 years old stated that they had already started saving money for their retirement, while 61 percent of respondents aged between 50 and 59 years old stated that they started saving for their retirement. The legal retirement age in China is currently 60 for male, 55 for female civil servants and 50 for female workers.
