Adults with any retirement savings in the U.S. 2021, by age group
In 2021, 87 percent of U.S. citizens who were 60 years old or older had some type of retirement savings. This information can be interpreted by the number of people in that age group without any retirement savings, which amounted to 13 percent. The share of individuals with retirement savings decreased with the younger age groups, and among adults from 18 to 29 years old, just 62 percent did not have retirement savings.
