Number of welfare facilities for senior citizens in South Korea 2009-2021
According to a study about elderly people in South Korea in 2022, there were over 85 thousand welfare facilities for senior citizens in 2021. More than three thousand facilities were added to the total compared to a year ago in 2019, and the number of these facilities has increased steadily since 2009, when there were around 67 thousand facilities. In 2018, around 86 percent of these welfare facilities were public recreational facilities for senior citizens.
