Elderly population South Korea 2000-2060

The population of elderly over 65 years old in South Korea has grown from around 3.4 million in 2000 to approximately 7.5 million in 2018. These figures are expecting to continue growing and more than double before peaking at around 19 million in 2050. At that point, with a total population of around 48 million, the elderly are expected to constitute around 40 percent of the population.
