Expected job losses due to coronavirus in event industry in the Netherlands 2020
As of March 2020, the event industry expects to deal with many job losses due to the coronavirus outbreak in the Netherlands. The industry expects to see a total of 48,000 jobs that will get lost. Employment within the public events are taking the hardest hit, with an estimated loss of 17,000 jobs.
The leisure industry are forecasted to see decreases of over ten percent in their added value, making them one of Netherlands' hardest hit industries of COVID-19 in 2020. This according to calculations made by economists from Dutch bank ABN AMRO.
