Number of students per teacher in upper secondary schools in Denmark 2015-2019

How many students are there per teacher in upper secondary schools in Denmark? For all students, regardless of educational direction, the student to teacher ratio increased from 2015 to 2019. Students enrolled at STX institutions shared one teacher per 11.9 students as of 2019, compared to 10.8 students in 2015. In comparison, HHX and HTX students had one teacher per 13.2 students in 2019. This was an increase of 0.6 students compared to the year 2015.

STX, HHX, and HTX comprise of the three main types of upper secondary education, gymnasium, in Denmark. The most common type is STX, which prepares students for higher academic education. HHX is focused on trade, while HTX is focused on technical subjects.
