Champix and Zyntabac prices in Spain January 2019-20
As of the first of January 2020, the Spanish National Healthcare System began to finance varenicline and bupropion drugs to help the smoking population quit this harmful habit. These drugs, marketed as Champix (varenicline) and Zyntabac (bupropion) experienced thereafter a sharp increase in popularity reflected in the units sold in January 2020 relative to the same period in 2019. As can be seen, the daily price per capita of these treatments was lower in January 2020 compared to the previous year, specifically they were cheaper by 36 percent for Champix and 72 percent in the case of Zyntabac, setting these products at 3.55 euros and 1.03 respectively.
