The total number of inspectors working for the immigration services administration in Japan amounted to more than 3.8 thousand people in 2020. During that year, the administration also employed about 1.6 thousand control officers. The demand for personnel increased in recent years due to the growing number of newly arriving foreign nationals in Japan.
