Best results obtained by the Italian women's national soccer team 2020
As of June 2020, the women's national soccer team of Italy ranked second in the Women's European Championships twice (1993 and 1997). In 2018 and 2019, the national team ranked second at the Cyprus Cup, a tournament organized in this country since 2008. On March 11, 2020, Italy was supposed to play the final match of the Algarve Competition with Germany. However, due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the team decided not to play the game and to return to Italy earlier, to avoid getting stuck in Portugal where the tournament was played. Therefore, the title was assigned to Germany and Italy ranked second.
