Number of employed people in Denmark 2022-2023, by industry

The public administration industry, including the education and health sector, employs the largest number of people in Denmark. As of the second quarter of 2023, there were nearly 940,000 employees working in this industry. Trade and transport employed the second highest number of people with over 735,000 employees, followed by manufacturing, mining, and quarrying. Across almost all industries, there were more employees in 2023 compared to the same quarter in 2022.
