
Crop damage value caused by wildlife in Japan FY 2018, by type
In fiscal year 2018, the highest crop damages in Japan were caused by deer, with around 5.4 billion Japanese yen. That year, the total value of crop damages caused by wildlife in 2018 amounted to about 16 billion yen. The damage caused by wildlife decreased gradually since 2013 due to the use of ICT-applied traps as a countermeasure.
