Electric vehicle incentives in key regions 2020
As of 2020, German car shoppers could save up to 10,000 U.S. dollars per vehicle in electric vehicle incentives, including subsidies and tax breaks. Governments have made concerted efforts to increase battery electric vehicle ownership in European countries, such as Norway, which is the country with the highest proportion of electric vehicles in its vehicle market. While the United States did not have any purchasing incentives as of June 2020, there do exist some incentives at local and regional levels that encourage electric vehicle ownership.
