Number of undergraduate students in major cities of China 2019
In 2019, the highest number of undergraduate students at public colleges and universities in major Chinese cities were enrolled in Guangzhou, numbering about 1.15 million. Beijing and Shanghai, which are home to some of the best universities in China, had a considerably smaller number of undergraduate students enrolled at their institutions of higher education.
