According to a survey conducted in 2020, 61 percent of respondents in the United States that are aged 18 to 34 have used a smart or connected home device before, while only 25 percent of respondents aged 55 and older have done the same. It is also not surprising that as the age groups increase, the likelihood of not being familiar with the concept of smart or connected home devices becomes higher. Some popular examples of connected home devices include Amazon's Echo/Alexa, Nest's home systems, Google Home, and Samsung's smart fridges.
