Favorite TV genres Japan 2021

According to a survey conducted in Japan in September 2021, 37 percent of television viewers liked variety or comedy programs. At the same time, more than a quarter of the respondents stated to like news programs. The survey also showed that news programs were the leading category among the most commonly watched television genres, but that there was a large discrepancy between the share of people who often watch news programs and the share of people who state to like them.
