In anticipation of Ramadan in 2021, 68.6 percent of respondents from the Middle East and North Africa stated that they valued spending time with their family that month. At the same time 52 percent of respondents from the region were expecting to have family gatherings and visiting relatives during this time. This might be a common tradition in the past for Ramadan, but could be challenging due to social distancing measures implemented to prevent the further spreading of the COVID-19 virus.
This year, Ramadan is expected to start by April 13th and end on May 12th with the three day festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.
