COVID-19 impact on organization VPN use worldwide 2021

In 2021, 20 percent of respondents state increasing their virtual private network (VPN) capacity by 76%. Conversely, 26 percent of respondents report not having to increase their VPN capacity as a result of COVID-19. The reason for an increase in VPN use capacity due to COVID-19 is because organizations around the world had to send many of their employees into the home office for work to keep them safe. Those that report not increasing their VPN capacity may have had unused VPN capacity prior to the epidemic.
