Views on the introduction of a plastic bag fee Japan 2020
According to a survey conducted in November 2020, the majority of respondents found the introduction of a fee for plastic bags in Japan not problematic because they were willing to carry their own reusable shopping bags. While over 37 percent of respondents stated that it is wasteful to throw away plastic bags after a single use, the same share mentioned it was inconvenient for them not to get free plastic bags.
