Most concerning environmental impacts of packaging in Indonesia 2020, by age group

Air pollution and water pollution are the most concerning environmental impacts of product packaging across all age groups in Indonesia. In 2020, those aged 35 to 54 were slightly more concerned about air pollution and water pollution than those in other age groups. Product packaging can negatively impact the environment in a number of ways such as deforestation due to increasing demand for paper packaging, emissions from production, and littering by end consumers. Concerns about marine litter were also high in Indonesia, which is the largest generator of plastic waste amongst global coastal populations.
