Gross national product (GNP) composition of Poland by sector 1937-1967
Prior to the Second World War, Poland's industrial sector was responsible for just 19 percent of the country's total gross national product (GNP), while agriculture had the largest share at 37 percent. Over the next three decades, these shares of GNP were reversed, with industry now contributing to 36 percent of the total GNP and agriculture with 24 percent. The contributions of the construction and transport sectors also grew, and these changes were offset by the trade and "other services" sectors.
