Occurring every four years, the Olympics see the world's best athletes in a variety of disciplines compete for a coveted Olympic medal. Public opinion regarding these athletes can vary. Serena Williams, an American professional tennis player, has won four Olympic gold medals throughout her career. During an August 2021 survey in the United States, 62 percent of all adult respondents stated that they had a favorable opinion of Serena Williams, while 10 percent had never heard of the athlete.
