
Number of tax payments per year in Sub-Saharan Africa 2019, by country
As of 2019, medium-size businesses had to pay 59 taxes and contributions per year in Tanzania. This was the highest number of payments registered in Sub-Saharan Africa, followed by 56 in Central African Republic. Moreover, the number reached 54 each in Benin and Chad. On the other hand, businesses executed seven tax payments in South Africa, the lowest level in the region. The average for Sub-Saharan Africa was measured at 36.6 payments.
