
Change in monthly earnings during pandemic India 2020, by employment type
In the year 2020, self-employed individuals across India faced an 18 percent decline in their monthly income as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and lockdown. In comparison, the type of employees who were least affected during this period were permanent salaried workers whose monthly earnings reduced marginally by five percent. Nonetheless, the monthly earnings across all employment categories dropped during the pandemic in 2020.
