Number of students in secondary education in Tanzania 2010-2019, by gender
As of 2019, Tanzania had over 2.3 million students enrolled in secondary schools. Since 2017, female students have been higher in number compared to males. Previously, there were more men than women enrolled in secondary education in the country. For instance, in 2010, public and privates secondary schools counted 910 thousand male and 728.5 thousand female students.
