Number of technical secondary schools in Italy 2019, by type of school

In 2019, among technical schools in Italy, 1,118 were specialized in commerce, the most widespread type of technical secondary school in the country. Additionally, 681 high schools offered programs in the field of industry, while 185 institutes trained students to become surveyors.
Technical high schools give access to tertiary education as well. Generally, they offer both practical and theoretical preparation, while vocational schools mostly focus on practical training. Eventually, lyceums give above all theoretical preparation for university.
