Reasons to go to university among high school graduates in Italy 2020

In a survey conducted in 2020, 67 percent of Italian high school graduates stated that they were willing to go to university because the job they were interested in required a university degree. Other common reasons to choose to attend university were cultural interests, higher salary as well as the advantage given by a university degree in the job market.

Data were acquired in two ways: 1. students took part to a survey answering a questionnaire, 2. school documents were consulted in order to gain information about gender, age, grades, citizenship, school credit, and type of diploma.
