Foreign workforce size Singapore 2016-2021
As of December 2021, a total of 1.2 million foreigners were employed in Singapore. This was a decrease from the previous year, likely caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, Singapore has tightened its foreign worker policies, applying stricter foreign worker regulation and border controls that may inhibit the recruitment of foreign workers, even for the skilled segment.
