Primary languages spoken at home in Tanzania 2021
Swahili was the main primary language spoken in Tanzania as of 2021. Over 60 percent of the population surveyed used the also called Kiswahili language at home. Additionally, around 13 percent of respondents spoke Kisukuma, also known as Sukuma, while only 0.2 percent of respondents used English as their primary language at home in the same period.
