The Japan is the world's leading exporter country of vinyl chloride, also know as chloroethene or chloroethylene. In 2021, the Japan exported over 1.04 million metric tons of the compound, with a value of 1.16 billion U.S. dollars. Ranking second was the United States, which exported some 1.08 billion U.S. dollars of chloroethylene.
