The number of outbound travelers from Greece increased significantly in 2022 over the previous year but remained below the figures reported prior to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Overall, Bulgaria was the leading outbound tourism market for Greece in 2022, with nearly 862 thousand tourists. Turkey and Italy followed on the ranking that year, with around 479 thousand and 407 thousand visitors from Greece, respectively.
