In 2023, the total contribution of travel and tourism to Greece's gross domestic product (GDP) nearly recovered from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, being just 0.5 percent lower than in 2019. Overall, the total contribution of these industries to Greece's GDP amounted to 42.7 billion euros in 2023. This figure was forecast to reach an estimated 46.8 billion euros in 2024.

That was the third-highest share of travel and tourism's total contribution to GDP in EU countries that year.
