From June 1, 2022, the German federal government implemented a ticket for nationwide local and regional transport for three months, which cost 9 euros per month. It was intended as an incentive to use local and regional transportation and relieve citizens of the high fuel prices. However, as of May 2022, this incentive was met with mixed reactions from consumers. 53 percent of the German population surveyed reported being unlikely or very unlikely to use this ticket.
