In 2022, London had the highest housing construction costs in the United Kingdom. The expense of building an apartment high-rise in England's capital amounted to 3,700 British pounds per square meter of internal area, while the cost of townhouses went down to 3,150 British pounds per square meter. Manchester was the second city on the list with the highest residential construction costs.
