Number of mines in Spain 2020, by type
In 2020, Spain had 10 active mines for the extraction of metallic minerals, while the number of industrial mineral sites stood at 165. Quarry products accounted for the largest number of sites in the country, at more than 2,000. The number of active mines in Spain has declined by roughly 20 percent since 2012.
