Australia: e-cigarette and vape use by young people 2021

According to the National Health Survey conducted during the 2021 financial year in Australia, the vast majority of young Australians between the ages of 15 and 17 years had never used an e-cigarette or vaping device. Just over one fifth of young Australians aged 18 to 24 years had used an e-cigarette or vaping device.

NHS 2020-21 collected the use of e-cigarettes and vaping devices for the first time. E-cigarettes and vaping devices are devices where users inhale vapor. These vapors may contain nicotine or non-nicotine products which may be flavored. These estimates do not include devices that contain illicit substances.
