Occupancy rate of hotels and similar accommodation in Italy 2012-2021
The average occupancy rate of hotels and similar accommodation establishments in Italy rose significantly in 2021 over the previous year, after dropping sharply in 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Despite the annual increase, hotel room occupancy remained below pre-pandemic levels, with an average of 43 percent in 2021. Over the period shown, hotels in Italy reported the highest figure in 2019, with an occupancy rate of 55 percent.
