As of 2016, the most common bariatric surgery procedures performed in France were sleeve gastrectomies and gastric bypasses. That year, 58 percent of bariatric surgeries were sleeve gastrectomies, followed by roughly 26 percent of gastric bypasses. In 2006, the perigastric ring was the most common procedure. However, this practice lost its popularity in favor of bypass and, by 2011, sleeve gastrectomy.
