Self-reported impact of transport costs on travel avoidance by country 2022
In 2022, a survey conducted in 18 countries regarding the impact of travel costs on people's decisions to travel showed that 79 percent of participants from South Africa and Turkey avoided travelling for cost reasons. Figures for Brazil and Portugal were also among the highest at 77 and 70 percent respectively. 13 out of 18 countries surveyed had a record of more than 50 percent of survey respondents who avoided travelling due to cost. The country where respondents self-reported the lowest impact of cost on travelling was Japan at 33 percent.
