As of 2022, the ownership of an electric car was cheaper than that of other types of cars. Driving a plug-in hybrid car was the most expensive at approximately 1,559 euros per month. Even before they were the most cost competitive option in the market, the popularity of electric vehicles in Belgium had already been increasing exponentially.
