Hypertension prevalence in adults in Mexico 2021, by age and gender
In Mexico, hypertension prevalence was higher among older segments of its population. In 2021, the estimated hypertension prevalence reached around 71.4 percent of adult women aged 70 to 79 years, and about 70.4 percent of men aged 80 years or more in the North American country. Prevalence of hypertension was estimated based on individuals with a previous medical diagnosis and those found with high blood pressure at the time of the study. Hypertension is a major health risk, which can cause conditions such as stroke or heart disease.
