In 2020/2021, the government was the largest investor in the Egyptian transportation and storage industry. The total value of investments in the sector reached close to 118.8 billion Egyptian pounds (3.85 billion U.S. dollars). Central projects and economic authorities followed, with 28.2 billion (910 million U.S. dollars) and 15.6 billion Egyptian pounds (500 million U.S. dollars), respectively. The private sector and public companies were the lowest contributors to spending in the transportation and storage sector.
