Shipments of air-source heat pumps and air-furnaces in the U.S. 2003-2022

In 2022, there were more shipments of air-source heat pumps than of air furnaces in the United States. That shows the increasing popularity of heat pumps, which have been increasing their market share since 2003. That year, shipments of air furnaces were twice as high as those of air-source heat pumps. In 2022, over half of all heating systems sold in the U.S. were heat pumps.
