In 2020, almost every second plug-in electric vehicle (PEV) on U.S. roads was a midsize car, while standard sport-utility vehicles (SUVs) accounted for nine percent of on-road plug-in electric vehicles in the U.S. California remained the largest market with more plug-in electric vehicles than any other state.
