Military expenditure in Armenia and Azerbaijan 2007-2022

In 2022, Azerbaijan's military spending was approximately 3.8 times the expenditure of Armenia, measured at almost three billion current U.S. dollars. That represented more than five percent of Azerbaijan's gross domestic product (GDP). Between 2021 and 2022, Azerbaijan increased its defense spending by 10.6 percent. Over the observed period, the country's expenditure on its military peaked at over 3.4 billion current U.S. dollars in 2014.
