Supplementary notes

Streptococcus pneumoniae is a bacteria causing a wide range of infections, from otitis to pneumonia and meningitis, with high mortality in vulnerable patient groups.
All EU Member States and two EEA countries (Island and Norway) reported data from invasive isolates, except for UK in 2020 and 2021. Roughly 76 percent of the participating countries had a high national representativeness, in terms of covered geographic areas, included acute care hospitals, and microorganisms causing infections.
