Adults presenting symptoms of psychological discomfort in Argentina 2010-2021
In 2021, an estimated 20.7 percent of adults in Argentina suffered from symptoms related to depression and anxiety. From 2010 to 2021, psychological discomfort had a relatively stable evolution in the South American country, hovering around 18 percent at its lowest point in 2010 and reaching its peak in 2020 (23.6 percent). Psychological discomfort refers to an inadequacy of emotional capabilities, reflected in anxious and depressive symptoms. According to a survey carried out in 2022, around four in every ten Argentineans considered mental health among the biggest health problems facing people in their country.
